A corporate real estate trainer who specializes in tenant retention, Alice Devine teaches at the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business. As director of leasing for developer William Wilson & Associates (now EQ Office), Alice was responsible for leasing a multi-million square foot Class A commercial office portfolio. Alice now teaches landlords and managers how to improve tenant retention, which results in increased property value due to lower releasing expenses and loss to lease. At UC Berkeley's Haas, Alice is a multi-time recipient of Club 6 membership, a faculty honor based on student reviews.
Alice's book, Suite Deal, the Smart Landlord's Guide to Leasing Real Estate, has won the Bruss/Robinson Award from the National Association of Real Estate Editors. She is a frequent contributor to NAIOP's Development magazine.
Alice holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Stanford University. She has earned the Certified Property Manager and Real Property Administrator designations from the Institute of Real Estate Management and the Building Owners and Managers Institute, respectively, and holds a California salesperson license.
Alice serves on the UC Berkeley Fisher Center's Committee for Public Conferences, and has previously served on San Francisco Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture's leasing committee and as a board member of Rebuilding Together Peninsula.
